2002 has been a good one, but not a great one, early in the year, I saw films that are ranked in my top 5, David Lynch's Mulholland Drive is an experience that stayed with me for many days, the soundtrack is haunting, especially the main music which gave me the creeps, Gosford Park is one of the best Period films in a long time, superb cast and a great director in Robert Altman, recently, I saw Bend it like Beckham, a very funny look at a young girl wanting to play soccer despite hestitation from her parents, it's also a moving insight into her indian family and their culture, certainly it will stay in my top 3, if not top 5, Panic Room was one that had me on the edge of my seat and there were many jolts and shocks and a beautiful Mind, a moving drama based on the true story of Professor Nash, brilliantly played by Russell Crowe and the performance by Jennifer Connolly moved me deeply. apart from the Good films, there have been some ordinary ones, The Mothman Propechies was one that bored me despite it's great climax, Director Mark Pellington, whose previous film was the chilling Arlington Road, disppoints, Johnny Depps film From Hell was another that I found hard to watch, and finally one that was sort of ho-hum was Storytelling, Todd Solondz's film is a bit of a disppointing film after the controversial, but brilliantly unforgettable Happiness. there is still more to come, the ones I am looking forward to are Insomina, Austin Powers 3, The Road To perdition, The Tracker, Australian Rules and many more, I'm looking forward to some opinions.

The Rookie
Big Trouble
Changing Lanes
Frailty
Spider Man
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones

Signs

The middle: Orange County
Brotherhood of the Wolf
Mothman Prophecies
Birthday Girl
Super Troopers
Resident Evil
Death to Smoochy
Murder By Numbers
Hollywood Ending
Reign of Fire
Eight Legged Freaks
Full Frontal

The downside: Imposter
The Shipping News
Snow Dogs
The Count of Monte Cristo
I Am Sam
Kung Pow
A Walk to Remember
Slackers
Big Fat Liar
Collateral Damage
Rollerball
Crossroads
Hart's War
John Q.
Return to Neverland
Dragonfly
Queen of the Damned
40 Days and 40 Nights
We Were Soldiers
All About the Benjamins
The Time Machine
Showtime
Blade II
Sorority Boys
Clockstoppers
High Crimes
Van Wilder
The Sweetest Thing
The Scorpion King
Jason X
Life or Something Like it
Deuces Wild
Unfaithful
The New Guy
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron
Enough
The Sum of All Fears
Bad Company
The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood
Scooby Doo
Windtalkers
Juwanna Mann
Hey Arnold!
Mr. Deeds
Like Mike
Men in Black II
Crocodile Hunter
Halloween: Resurrection
K-19
Stuart Little 2
Austin Powers in Goldmember
The Country Bears

The Master of Disguise

The ones in bold and italics are what I thought was either the best movie of the year or worst, depending on which list it was on.

Minority Report
Insomnia
Spidey
Road to Perdition
Changing Lanes

Attack of the Clones can bite my ass. But less so than Episode One can.

I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head on what was good, medium, and crappy this year. I nearly forgot how much crap there was this year.
