Twin Dragons
[AllPosters.com] Buy posters from this movie

"Score: Jackie Chan - 2; Audience - 0"
1 stars

Even going in and knowing what to expect, you'll still be disappointed.

Ah, Miramax. They're content to buy up old Jackie Chan flicks, import 'em and re-release 'em for the masses Stateside. Easy money.

But with each passing Chan rerelease, the excitement grows a little less tense, the action a little too corny, the dubbing a little too atrocious.

Such is the case with Twin Dragons, arguably the worst flick (and not just Chan flick, but ANY flick) I've seen in a very, very long time.

The plot is reminiscent of the equally stinky Van Damme crapfest Double Impact. Twin brothers separated at birth. One becomes an orchestra conductor, is educated and well off. The other becomes a mechanic and street thug. The two meet, there's a case of mistaken identity and identity switching, then the two team up and beat people up.

A good time had by all, right?

Negative.

Hard to believe that this is a movie directed by both Ringo Lam (known in the states for Van Damme's vomit-inducing Maximum Risk) and Tsui Hark (known in the states for Van Damme's vomit-inducing Double Team AND Knock Off), both of whom have seen better days as directors.

Actually, given that trio of trash (all released after Twin Dragons was initially), maybe it's not so hard to believe.

The story is a wisp of a thing, the dubbed dialogue is horrible, the effects shots of both Chans together are laughable. Even the action sequences are lackluster. I don't know if there's outtakes at the end (I'm told there weren't), because the moment the credits started to roll, I ran from the theater and went home to shower, just to get the smell of stinky movie off me.

There are better Chan movies (dubbed ones included). Don't waste your cash.
