"Daywalker? Nightwalker? Who gives a shit? Wesley Kill somebody!"
BLADE CUTS THROUGH BOREDOM, LIKE, WELL A BLADE!Wesley Snipes never fails to make a good action hero, or villian(Demolition Man), even if the plot is bad in the movie, He is still pretty good. This holds true to form. While the action is very entertaining, the vampire effects are cool as hell. The plot leaves a little something to be desired.
A lot of people are going gaga over Steven Dorff. Personally I don't see what's so good about him. I remember him from when he was the big brother on this cheesy TV show about a talking ventriloquist's dummy. Major points if you remember the name of aforementioned series. Dorff's acting is fine in this film, but it macks a little too hard off the type of cynicism portrayed by a young Christian Slater, who in turn had stolen it off Nicholson.
Kris Kristofferson turns in an alright performance, as Blade's YODA, he found him and trained him, and now they both hunt vampires.
In the first twenty minutes there is one REALLY GOOD SCARE, and that's about it for the rest of the flick. It isn't a horror movie, it's an action film, that happens to deal with vampires. If you're big on Vampire lore you won't really like this writer's idea of their society, seeing as how he lays out what they are and how they act, but not exactly what's behind it, or why they are what they are.
All in all though, it's a good movie to pass the time with.Be more afraid of the box office then the movie, they're the real Blood suckers.
