This is one hell of a good movie. :)I loved this movie to death. Guido Orefice is the most light hearted character i've ever seen on film which just makes it a pleasure to watch. The first half of the film is about his pursuit of Dora, a beautiful Italian school teacher who is supposed to marry this goatee-having jerk person :P well i guess this review kinda contains a spoiler but i don't see a way around it... so they have a kid and they're all taken away by the Nazis (boo, hiss!) While everyone around him seems to have their spirits broken, Guido pretends that its all a fun camp and that if they hang in there they'll win first prize, so that his son never has to know what's really going on. I could never imagine anyone being that brave in real life, which just makes the story all that more incredible.
If ever the Academy were to award a foreign film best picture of the year, this would be the time to do it.A masterpiece that pulls the heartstrings in every direction imaginable :)
