It's a 13-episode anthology series that's airing on Showtime in October.
The following names are involved, be they director, writer, or source material provider:
Dario Argento, Clive Barker, John Carpenter, Larry Cohen, Roger Corman, Don Coscarelli, Joe Dante, Mick Garris, Stuart Gordon, Sam Hamm, Tobe Hooper, Stephen King, John Landis, Joe Lansdale, HP Lovecraft, William Malone, Richard Matheson Jr., Lucky McKee, Takashi Miike, and George Romero

I remember reading about this series a while back. It looks and sounds incredible. There aren't a lot of shows on television at the moment that make me want to actually sit down and watch TV, but this one looks like it can pull it off.
…And Stephen King? That's cool...as long as he's not directing *shivers*. |

I remember hearing something about Landis going way over budget and schedule, which isn't really a good sign... but the project as a whole still looks fantastic. |

So cool it's almost enough to make me subscribe to Showtime. Almost. But I'll be first in line if they release this thing in one dvd box set. |

You neglected to mention Drew McWeeny. Carpenter's episode has been written by McWeeny and his writing partner the equally corpulent Scott Swan. Does everybody still feel as confident about this project now?
Carpenter should have been euthanized after They Live. He's been stinking up Hollywood for the last 15 fucking years and he's now directing the work of that fat, litigious shill. Game over man, game over. |

So, did anyone but me watch the first episode? Cascarelli directing a Joe Landsdale story. Not bad but nothing to write home about. _________________ All movies mean something--even the ones that try not to. Paul Schrader |

Whoops. Sorry Chuck. Your "Exactly!" response got screwed up by yours truly.
And this series will absolutely be released on DVD. Prolly around this time next year. _________________ Scott Weinberg |

I've been keeping up with this one but even with Tobe Hooper, Stuart Gordon and Dario Argento (so far) it has yet to hit one out of the park. For all the talk about the freedom of cable TV to go for the solid scares, this series so far is just standard cable fare. It's almost as if they intend to cut out the nudity and re-package this stuff for the Sci Fi Channel later. They couldn't be thinking of that, could they?
