yes, when rice moves it can be very scary...there, there - and just where do they come from à la the chicken & egg/the fly & the maggot...
what, pray tell, prompted you to bring this up?
my feeble contribution includes disclosure of my fear of being tickled [until i can't breathe].
also i have an allergy to alliteration and mediocrity, which is why i'm an intermittently itchy individual. |

Daddy longlegs (good luck finding a proper name for that). Not total arachnophobia, not spiders in general, but specifically daddy longlegs. I've been known to run screaming. It's not pretty.
And lightning, if I'm outside during a storm. But I love to watch it from indoors. You know what? I'm weird. _________________ Give me all your 80s music and no one gets hurt. |

I absolutely hate any rodent, cute little mouse or otherwise, with a passion. Yes, I can still watch Mickey Mouse without screaming, but if I have a mouse in the apartment (like a few years ago), I go mad.
OCD-wise, I find it impossible to give away or throw out books. I buy them, read many of them, but cannot bear to part with them. I give away DVDs and CDs regularly, mostly to charity stores, but get your bleeding hands off my books!!

who's afraid of virginia 'wolf meat'?
9 troll warriors are nothing!
...
or did you mean that you are afraid of that which 'moves all extremities? (try it you'll like it...)

or are you a disgruntled 'member of the academy of experts'?

certainly it cannot be that you're such a perfectionist that plain old 'medium altitude endurance' just won't do... |

I too fear the maggots in a big way. There's an episode of old Doctor Who (a bunch of episodes, actually) in which some big maggot-like creatures were after him, and I could never really stomach watching the show again after that.
And hi, smrt. _________________

The Green Death, Oz, is the episode you're after.
And there's also a certain bit in Cronenberg's The Fly that's a tough watch. _________________ "We hate the French! We fight wars against the French! Did all those men die in vain on the fields of Agincourt? Was the man who burned Joan of Arc just wasting good matches?" |

Let's also not forget that scene in Licence to Kill where Bond dispatches a bad guy by thowing him into a compartment of maggots and closing it. _________________ "Joe the Plumber -- you can quote me -- is a dumbass." -- Meghan McCain |

heights (inaccurate. what i'm actually afraid of is falling.)
spiders. tiny ones, tarantulas, daddy longlegs, you name it.
clowns (my dad made me read IT.)
run-down vans that look like the people in them snatch little kids.
needles.
deep, cant-see-to-the-bottom, omg-theres-sharks/monsters-in-there water.
women with overly-poufy 80s hair.
people with more than 7 face peircings (not including earrings).
people with tattoos of goats or guns.
the flying monkeys from the wizard of oz.
talking on the phone.
driving.
They get in the way sometimes. Especially the last two. |

yes, i agree, jumping is much better.
spiders. tiny ones, tarantulas, daddy longlegs, you name it.
aren't all bugs some spin-off of spiders? ...just saying...
clowns (my dad made me read IT.)
i may report your dad to the authorities.
however, mr. king thanks you for the residual...i'm sure.
run-down vans that look like the people in them snatch little kids.
are those the ones that have that 'baby-on-board' suction-signs on the [outside] of the blacked-out back windows?
needles.
so you're not immunized...
and you waste/disregard, those extra buttons that garment manufacturers provide...
and have no use for puzzling haystacks?
deep, cant-see-to-the-bottom, omg-theres-sharks/monsters-in-there water.
no worries, based on your other 'fears' i'm thinking that you probably have no problem getting into kiddie-pools...
women with overly-poufy 80s hair.
but just your average amount of "poufy" is alright?
can/would you give an example that gauges your fear/tolerance threshold of this, possibly the most crippling of all of your phobias?
[beware: scarily/absurdly, etc., "overly-poufy" hair came into being long before the 80's...]
people with more than 7 face peircings (not including earrings).
hmmm, your nightmares sound like they're highly populated by rhino-psychos since nose piercings* can count for at least 5 spooky-holes: both nostrils, septum, jungle (which sticks out of the front of the nose, no shit!) and bridge (horizontal, of course!)...
...then there's the labret (chin), & medusa/madonna, and you've got your seven...
...unless, do you count lobe-stretching as earrings?
what about anti-tragus (those ear piercings* below the conch of the ear, not to be confused with helix, daith & rook...); and the scrumper, but you can't see that one because it's inside the mouth like the tongue which probably also doesn't count as "face", so i guess i kind of understand this one of your phobias...
*and by 'piercings' i mean "peircings"
people with tattoos of goats or guns.
what about goats with guns, those are the worst!
except for ghosts with nuns, etc.
...but you must agree that the classic oedipal "mother" firmly engraved on a man's very manly bicep is absolutely re-assuring...(even if you're not allowed in the attic, or the basement...)
the flying monkeys from the wizard of oz.
never mind the monkeys.
or the wizard.
just oz, himself, is enough to give you the shivers...
talking on the phone.
be more specific: like talking on the phone to someone who will listen...
driving.
be more specific: like driving a vehicle on a road, as apposed to someone up a wall or around the bend, for instance.
They get in the way sometimes. Especially the last two.
with a list like this i don't know how you do it - kudos for such a seamless (seemless?) existence despite it all... |

Hate, hate, hate, HATE all rodents rats in particular, but I don't even like bunnies.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, worst movie I ever saw followed closely by Graveyard Shift and that scene in the Princess Bride. Don't even mention Willard. |
