|Earlier today, a friend of mine who is a celebrity, yeah
a celebrity, (stick that in your craw!) forwarded an
email message to me that he received from Secretary
of State Powell. Hopefully those who chat at this site and
are "comprehension challenged" will have the capability
to understand the message:
This message is awesome!
When in England at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell
was asked by the Arch Bishop of Canterbury if our plans
for Iraq were just an example of empire building by
George Bush, He replied by saying that "Over the years,
the United States has sent many of its fine young men
and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond
our borders. The only amount of LAND the USA have
ever asked for in return is ENOUGH to bury those
fallen that did not return to the USA". Hence, the room
became very quiet.
I too like Colin Powel am an African America. Many people
of my race are fighting in Iraq. We are very proud and
supportive of President Bush. We get it. I am of the
group of African Americans who have chosen not to
play the race card, and not to hide behind or use my
race as an excuse for whatever reason.
To me, former President Clinton only showed support of
African Americans simply because he wanted their vote
and not much else. He is a charlatan but I will give him this,
he is an excellent Salesman and Actor. Many people
bought his brio I for one saw through the bogus. He
never and will never impressed me.
