One of the very best character actors ever to have graced the silver screen. I met him once in a hotel pool in Hawaii several years ago when he was vacationing with his daughter and young grandson, and he was super-nice and didn't put on airs. A real class act, he. And his bravura lead performance in 1956's Invasion of the Body Snatchers remains one of the very best in the Horror genre.

I may have seen in him films I didn't care for, but I never saw him give a performance I never cared for. Obviously great in Innerspace too, but I have a huge space in my heart for his slimy TV exec in UHF.

Sadly missed.

Definitely. He was hammy perfection in "UHF". I like an actor who's not afraid to take chances and come off as really goofy while still keeping within the perimeters of the character.
