Is the most consistently brilliant comedy since Arrested Development closed up shop.

Every time someone talks of how good it is, I give it another chance. And every time I give it another chance, I walk away thinking the same thing: man, this is lousy.
I also didn't like Arrested Development. Both try too hard with too little payoff. |

I've seen 'em, I've seen how funny they can be (the one where Alec Baldwin becomes Tracy Morgan's father in therapy is actually every bit as fantastic as you have heard), but for some reason, I'm just a no-show come viewing time. _________________ I am L. Pete Morton. |

It's one of those shows I'll watch if I happen to be awake (fave line from the past couple of weeks: "It's pronounced Wiener-Slave"), but I don't set the DVR or anything. _________________ Charles Tatum's Review Archive |

I think there are things on at that time that either my wife or I want taped, so those get left behind. The nice thing though, is with Netflix I can always revisit them down the road, and not even have to wait week to week. That's how I'm currently consuming House. _________________ I am L. I don't get the appeal. I've had a coworker harassing me to get into it for as long as it has been on, and I've tried repeatedly, but it's never taken. I think I just can't get past Tina Fey. Great comedic writer (lord knows SNL misses her), and some of her impersonations are spot on, but having her play someone "normal," meaning without a blatant gimmick, and she becomes really irritating to me. Odd, since she was one of the elements of the perfect storm that made Mean Girls so much better than it deserved to be. |

I didn't get into it until I had whole seasons at my disposal via Netflix streaming. I don't know if I would use a rental on it, but it's great late at night right before bed when a last laugh is in order. I've grown to appreciate the comedy stylings of Alec Baldwin, and Tracy Morgan usually gets a laugh or two out of me. |

I quite like '30 Rock' myself, but can see how it doesn't appeal to man-y...,
It's better than that 'Studio 60', though, a similar the behind-the-scenes of a weekly late night comedy show [featuring West Wing Friends]...at least it's shorter in airtime, which makes sense since 30 [Rock] is half of [Studio] 60... |

That's got to be some kind of record.
BTW Arrested Developement.. best.comedy.series.ever. Never watched it when it was on television but I rented all the dvd's and couldn't stop laughing. OMG. |
