I'm sorry-did you say something? I was too busy counting those 16 runs to pay attention.

Yeah, but a few of those runs at the end were unearned. Unearned! You should be ashamed of yourself, taking runs you didn't even work for!

I went all the way to Oakland for opening day,m only to see Barry Zito's shortest outing ever, and a 15-2 loss to the Yankees.

And it rained. And I was out of clean underwear the day before. And I missed Jasper sprouting his first two teeth while I was there.

Still, as soon as I got home, the A's beat the Yankees two nights straight. So that's nice.

I hear Frank Thomas had a home run in the first game, and hit a big double for Oakland last night. I honestly hope he does well for you guys - except, of course, when they play the Sox. It'll be goddamn weird to see him in that big green uniform.

I have tickets for his first game back in Chicago, and even though the guy's a huge dick, as a life long White Sox fan, I will give him a welcoming round of applause when he steps to the plate.

I see Thomas as the best $500k Oakland ever spent. I'm sure he has been a dick previously (what ballplayer isn't), but right now he seems to be loving life. Hope it continues.

As for the Giants... good grief. Anyone who can stand up and cheer Barry Bonds right now is the lowest type of ball fan, in my opinion. In fact, at an exhibition game against the Giants the weekend before the home opener, I got into a bit of a knock down drag em out with a Bonds fan when he insisted on standing up in front of me and bowing to Barroid.

He kept saying "never tested positive" over and over, to which I'd reply "never played during steroid testing season". He'd then say I was jealous, I then said he was soulless, he then said he'd punch my lights out, I then said he should make sure he'd been taking both the Cream AND the Clear if he wanted to try that on.

Once the A's fans started telling him he was a dick, he shut up pretty quickly, and by the 8th inning he was outta there. Dick.

Oh, and Bonds never got above the speed of a light jog for the entire game. when he'd hit the ball, he'd run halfway to first then peel off towards the dugout. Even when the ball was hit to left field, he'd jog after it rather than sprint. In fact, the game was held up twice because Barry was walking out to left field rather than running out there.

Barry Bonds = cock.

Amen Oz, Amen.

Knowing full well front-and-center of all the dick-related stories with Frank Thomas over the years - my favorite story remains:

Back in 1995 - downtown with friends shopping at the Water Tower Mall. We're walking through the second floor and in a lingerie shop spot Frank Thomas with a couple of guy friends. One of my friends, being the gigantic Sox fan he is, wanted to go in to meet him.

Before he got to shake Thomas' hand, which he did, the Big Hurt was closely inspecting a pair of pink panties. So, for that moment at least he wasn't much of a dick - but for life may not actually have a dick at all.

Wokka!

I was shocked to see the way Giants fans greeted Bonds the other day. It was truly repulsive. History will not be kind to that footage of 30 thousand people giving him a standing ovation. I threw up in my mouth a little.

Erik, that's a hilarious story - and one I plan on retelling many times over.

They can cheer him all they like, but the image that will be replayed over and over is Bonds picking up that huge plastic syringe on the outfield grass and walking it to the sideline.

He's gonna get flamed at every away ballpark he travels to. And may he feel every shouted insult deep to his core.

This is awesome.

The 1986 World Series game 6 final inning, as reenacted with RBI Baseball.

Too frickin' cool.

It's hilarious fun booking Bonds up close. He hears 'em, alright.

And when people were really giving it to him, he couldn't hit shit this season. It's only places like Colorado and amongst his hometown moron fans that he can still get the ball out of the infield.

Proud to have called Bonds a whore and an embarassment to the memory of his father, right to his puffed up, roud-heavy face.

In which case...

Good LORD, am I glad the Sox traded for Mirabelli today, and hope he's in uniform for tonight's game with Wakefield pitching. Watching Josh Bard try to handle the knuckleball has been bloody painful.
