I did, because my book club is reading it. Of course, I still have to read 5 and 6, first. That's a lot of Harry Potter for one month.

Nope. I stopped reading them after Azkaban. I started Goblet, and it really wasn't holding its own (cause Azkaban was awesome), so I stopped, and haven't read one since.

One of my Potterhead coworkers brought the book to work, and I admit that I peeked at the last few pages. Not what I expected. Not particularly clever, but not what I expected. It will certainly please fans, I think.

What I read out of the book was just the last couple pages of the epilogue. I went over to wiki and read that. The end of the actual story does sound quite fitting. It also looks like that's going to translate very well to a movie, which is all I really give a damn about anyway.

Never. I've got an unread copy of the first from my time at an educational toy/book etailer (cost me like a buck), and I don't foresee any time when my pile of books to read shrinks to the point when I'll have interest in a series of seven fantasy novels.

And I'm none to fond of "chosen ones" as a story device, anyway.

Watching Order of the Phoenix has re-piqued my interest in the books.

I've read the first and third novels - I was, meh, after the first, but the third was so boring.

Do let us know what you think of the ending - the ending of the whole series that is. It's an interesting way to deal with the problem of how to end such an epic story.

I'll do that.

It's a shame the series will never see the silver screen treatment. Crying or Very sad

?

How are we so sure of that?

I guess it more lends itself as a mini-series kinda thing, but why are we so sure it's not hitting the silver screen?

Because whenever I talk about The Dark Tower series, I might get one or two people who know what I'm talking about. With Harry Potter, People tell me even if I didn't ask them about Potter.

I think the Dark Tower series could be made into a movie series, it's just that Potter gets more publicity(toilet paper, calenders, etc.) whereas Dark Tower fans get some comic books.

Although the series leans more towards the TV series treatment, I'd rather see a movie series than a TV series.

I've never read a Harry Potter book or seen a movie.

And I'm glad, because the cultists scare me. Very Happy

(Plus, I think the kids are a bunch of offputting looking fuckers.)
