"Don't I know him from somewhere?"
3 stars

Appears to be a teen directed, cheap thrill, cheap trick movie, but there's wisdom within.

I can't say that this movie is at all riveting, or even able to keep your attention constantly. Yes, you might find yourself repeatedly ignoring dialogue that seems to have no excuse for existing. You might meanwhile be repeatedly wishing you could just shave that dumn bushy mohawk-thing off ben's head . . .
BUT the characters in this movie have something comfortingly familiar about them - perhaps something that reminds us of ourselves at those points in our life when we hit one end and wonder where to begin again. I especially enjoyed the conversation between Jack and Slosh about living like a dog, riding in a car with its head out of the window and its ears flapping in the wind. Now that's a metaphor.
Other perks include a scene where the not-so-fabulous five go on a destructive rampage including a chainsaw and a toaster, some good upbeat punk tunes, Ben Affleck skateboarding, and yes, even Matt Damon as a loser extra in a pink shirt.

Why not?
